detroit/blade runner PSL timeline;

DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN
Connor's story starts soon after the main events of DBH, after what is generally considered to be one of the better endings - not quite "everyone lives" but mostly everyone lives. Connor makes the decision to become deviant and join the android revolution, and infiltrates CyberLife's HQ tower to wake up the rest of the dormant androids there and lead them to the city center. Markus lead a successful peaceful protest and the androids have won victory, for the moment.

PSL Universe
This PSL fuses the DBH and Blade Runner canons together, with Wallace Corp and their replicants a rival robot-manufacturer company to CyberLife's androids. They generally stay on their own territory and compete against each other in the robot servant market like any major corporations would do. But it seems that replicants are starting to rebel against their creators, just as androids are deviating from their programming. CyberLife sends their most advanced android prototype, an RK800 named Connor, to investigate the situation and determine the cause of android deviancy by whatever means necessary. And Wallace Corp sends their Blade Runners, namely Officer K D6-3.7, to dispose of rogue replicants. The two of them meet through sudden, awkward happenstance after the revolution. But while Wallace Corp remains complacent for the moment, CyberLife is on the warpath, strictly focused on quelling the android resistance before it gets out of hand, and hunting down the one android that knows their deepest, darkest secret.
(note: any other characters responding to Connor in threads are not part of the PSL and only Connor's interactions with K are counted. for K's other interactions in this PSL, click here.)

One: After Markus claims a temporary victory for the androids in the revolution (and narrowly avoids an untimely demise,) Connor retreats from the DPD and with the aid of former members of Jericho, manages to secure a new living space of his own in an old apartment building. He's not there long before he makes a minor mistake in presuming the walls were thick enough to block out the sound of some late night heavy metal. Thankfully, a neighbour's willing to offer some advice.

Two: It starts off like any conversation about drunk humans and their shenanigans. Connor had made a visit to check in on an old friend from the DPD, but ended up being rudely accosted and his solution to the problem was not the most polite. The conversation does take a bit of a downturn, when K reveals the true nature of his job, and the similarities to Connor's own programming is a little too close to home - at the same time, Connor reveals what he knows of CyberLife's intentions once they find him. Regardless, Connor considers K something of a friend (even though it may be a little too early to presume something like that,) and he decides to keep K's contact information in his database for the time being.

Three: Two robos learn what it means to prank someone. Turns out, it's not all that much fun. While still keeping his head low, Connor visits his DPD friend and asks for a favour, and then heads out to look for K. Finding him handcuffed to a chair for seemingly no reason is distressing, to say the least. The way humans abuse their power over nonhumans, even now after the androids have made it apparent they're going to keep fighting for their rights and equality, bothers Connor to a great extent and he takes it upon himself to help his friend out of this unfortunate situation. The result is a chase and a bullet through the waist, but Connor considers it a successful rescue mission nonetheless.

Four: The lack of proper CyberLife regulated maintenance is starting to take its toll on Connor the longer he remains on the run. His normal standby periods are meant to be brief and infrequent, but an accidental longer snooze than intended results in yet another human playing a prank on him. Connor returns the favour. Their conversation takes a turn for the sappy and intimate, the two of them learning a little more about each other and their experiences and preferences, and Connor discovers some of the things he's curious about qualify him as a romantic. That's interesting.

Five: "The second guy sort of stabbed me." What starts as an invitation to see K's shiny new piano turns into an impromptu patchwork session, while Connor keeps a particular detail under wraps until later in their visit. It turns out that CyberLife may have discovered his location - a branded automated van was parked out on the street across from the apartment building, and while he never confirmed what it was there for, it was enough to arouse suspicion and to cross that location off the list. He eventually reveals that information, much to his friend's dismay, and the two deal with the aftermath in a sad, but touching way.

That ends up being their last interaction for a good while. K does end up being recalled by his handlers, and Connor retreats to the few androids from Jericho who trust and help him when he's in need - though he has the sinking suspicion some of them are only looking out for him because they know they would all be at risk if CyberLife got their hands on him. But the revolution leader, Markus, is always a safe bet when Connor needs some assistance in whatever trouble confronts him. With Markus' help, Connor is able to leave Detroit behind in order to find a safe haven far away from CyberLife's grasp. It's all so sudden, and he's unable to say his goodbyes in his haste to escape. Certain parts of his database are erased and reset in order to cover his tracks, effectively cutting off all contact in Detroit for a time.

It's Connor's suggestion to move to Los Angeles. There's the hope that he might run into an old friend there, so with the aid from the main android resistance leaders, Connor is able to relocate to a small LA bachelor suite apartment. In the wake of the android uprising, new laws and regulations are in place, and while androids are legally allowed to rent or own properties and even get paid for their jobs, certain establishments and states require androids to still be physically identifiable as androids. While he's ditched the CyberLife uniform for good a long time ago, Connor replaces the LED on his temple, in order to hold down a new job and keep his head low.

For three months, Connor manages to hold down a job as a bartender in a late night LA club. CyberLife has a very minimal, almost nonexistant presence in LA, and despite his image being broadcast on live television during the revolution, he remains unnoticed and unrecognized - police stations and private investigating might've been more his preference, but he can't make his whereabouts too obvious. The most Connor has to deal with is an unruly drunken patron or two, or those who still have their biases against androids and still consider them to be nothing more than machines. On more than one occasion he's been accosted by such people, but the club's bouncer is another android, a TR400 model who keeps the peace and ensures nothing escalates. While Connor is technically more than capable of defending himself with his proximity defense protocols and enhanced combat techniques, the fear that causing a scene could potentially alert CyberLife to his location is what keeps him from using it.

Six: Despite working in a considerably social profession, Connor finds himself feeling incredibly lonely and isolated now that he's away from Detroit. Payphones and the bar's own publicly listed number give him some old communication back without being a target, but LA is new and loud and frightening even after all this time. But after yet another incident with an angry customer, a surprise familiar face is waiting for him at the other end of the bar. Relief is combined with a new and almost overwhelming desire to protect and care for K after witnessing his friend in such a distressing and injured state, which is bound to cause problems sooner or later, but for the time being Connor resolves to look after K to the best of his abilities. If he can't defend himself, he can definitely defend K.

Seven: Apparently, looking out for K means wrenching a knife from an attacker's hands and stabbing them with it when they start getting aggressive. Connor has a hard time comprehending this new emotion that wasn't at all originally programmed in him, the only consolation being that he was at least mindful not to stab anywhere vital ... but it happened regardless and that's just something they'll have to deal with. Rather than dwell on it, the two instead decide to talk about the possibility of sharing an apartment together - something Connor had refused in the past, but LA isn't Detroit. The conversation also includes the first genuine compliments the two (awkwardly) attempt to give to each other, as well as Connor's admittance of his ever-present fear of being discovered. He'd love to move in with K, but he wants to make smart decisions about it.

Eight: It figures it wouldn't always be smooth sailing. While taking out the recycling one night at the bar, Connor is confronted by a drunken, but mostly coherent customer that was once a hired guard at CyberLife HQ. He recognized the android bartender as the one responsible for the deaths of several armed guards at the tower, and very clearly resents him for it. With a broken pipe in hand, the man attacks Connor and strikes him hard across his face, shattering part of the plastic shell, and only stops when the club's bouncer intervenes to bring a stop to the altercation. Connor insists that the incident was no big deal and not to make a fuss of it, and returns to the bar to finish the rest of his shift while ignoring some very important warnings in his system. At the end of the night, Connor makes his way back to the new apartment he now shares with K, but as a result of the pipe attack and lack of proper updates and maintenance to his software, the electronic security locks on the door don't unlock properly under his command. The result is a broken front door, alarmingly high stress levels, and a difficult conversation with his friend after.

Nine: Connor works up the nerve to try teasing and flirting with K one night after the bar closes early. It goes about as smoothly as one would expect. (ongoing)
